Who are we? We are people of all ages and backgrounds working together to strengthen our community. Serving on our 2024 Steering Committee : Tania Fonseca, Michelle Cazares-Alvarez, Grant Sincox, Maira Garcia, and co-organizers, Maria Gonzalez and Joa LaVille.

Our History
- Spoke at ceremony for Members First, Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) designation, Festival Cultural, October 2023
- Community Reponse Coalition Resource Fair & Fraud Presentation (with AARP), December 2022
- CommUnity Unity Potluck, Anson Park, October, 2022
- Speak on a statewide panel, hosted by Iowa MMJ, about community ID projects, including our Central Iowa Community ID, a project of the Marshall County Community Response Coalition, November, 2021
- Present to Members First Credit Union about our community, and financial issues and barriers specific to immigrants and refugee, October, 2021
- Partnered with local leaders to organize Marshalltown Strong CommUnity #Black Lives Matter rally, June 2020
- Worked with Marshall County Community Foundation to establish the Immigrant Allies Helping Fund, to provide funds via grants to Coalition organizations, to help immigrants in need, May 2020
- Partnered with CoSI of Grinnell to distribute free masks and sanitizer for frontline factory workers and their families in Marshalltown and Central Iowa, 2020
- Coordinated the "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" food drive, in partnership with La Carreta, to bolster Salvation Army's emergency food supply, specifically increasing the availability of food more familiar to many of our local immigrant families, April 2020
- Immigration Policy Roundtable with representatives from multiple Presidential Campaigns, hosted at La Carreta, December 2019
- Partner with Story County Coordinating Committee to create the Central Iowa Community ID, with ID drives in Story and Marshall Counties, 2019
